Benefits: Lowe's offers part-timers the opportunity to participate in a limited benefit health plan, a dental plan, term life insurance and short-term disability. A year of employment qualifies workers for 40 hours of paid vacation time.
This is true. On a slow day at Home Depot they will call up the part-timers first thing in the morning of the day they are supposed to go in and tell them their hours have been cut and not to bother to show up. It makes you wonder how they know that at 2 p.m. when you are supposed to punch will be slow.
I have been with Fed Ex for 21 years and have been part time the entire time I have been here. I have always had FANTASTIC benifits. They forgot Fed Ex...
I started working part time 10 yrs. ago. I didn't think I would be there that long. It is a good company to work for. Sure they cut hours when it is slow. I'm sure most places do. Our store receives bonuses, gift cards during the holidays, and also drawings for a new car. How many companies do you know of that give away new cars to their employees?
They just built a Lowes across the street from the Menards that I work at......and they are one hurting unit! There are NEVER any cars in their parking lot! Why? Because they are WAY higher priced than Menards is.....check out the exact same items and you will see a huge price difference! They will be closing doors soon is my prediction!!!!

This fails to tell you that during their "slow" season, part time hours are cut to about 4 hours per week!!!
