Average Salary: $11.01/hour (Medical offices pay higher than the average rate.)
Job Description:Receptionists greet and assist guests when they visit a business. Their duties depend on the type of business, but generally they perform administrative tasks. In medical offices they handle patient records.
I am 59 yrs old and currently have my own at home business. I would like to work part time as a medical receptionist, prefering a doctor's office. Reason being: that when I was 16 yrs old through the age of 27 I worked various hospital positions, part time. From running admitting office alone (graveyard shift), to medical records, to ward clark. Plus with my own health problems, I understand what a patient needs as far as getting communication from the patient to the doctor. This is something I know would be rewarding for me. Pay, at this point, isn't an issue.
