An office worker at a lingerie warehouse claims she was fired for her busty physique and form-fitting outfits. With celebrity attorney Gloria Allred by her side, Lauren Odes announced on Monday that she had filed a complaint with the federal government for gender and religious discrimination.

If a woman claims that she was wronged because of her sexy body, you can bet the media is there to cover her travails. But the news cameras tend to disappear during the long slog of the legal process. If the case is subsequently dismissed or quietly settled, there's hardly a murmur in the media, and the struggles of these women to find new work doesn't make for an easy headline. Several women have gone through this: the media frenzy, the mocking comments, and the lengthy and quiet fight.

Why 80 Percent Of Female Bosses' Jokes Fall Flat

So of course it's an important part of any corporate board room discussion. Bad news then for the American women who occupy 13 percent of seats at the table: You might think you're funny, but you're not.

You might expect a lingerie warehouse to have a pretty lax dress code for its employees. But a New Jersey woman claims that she was fired for her "too hot" outfits. Her Orthodox Jewish employers didn't appreciate her busty physique and form-fitting clothing, even thought they sold, in her words, "thongs with hearts placed in the female genital area and boy shorts for women that say 'hot' in the buttocks area."

Lauren Odes, 29, did data entry at the Native Intimates warehouse for a week in late April. She says that she asked what the dress code was, and was told just to check out what everyone else was wearing. "So I did," Odes (pictured at left) said at a press conference on Monday. He walked along a mile and half of drag marks, skin and blood, and found the spot in the woods where three white supremacists had wrapped a logging chain around James Byrd Jr.'s ankles, hooked it to a pickup truck and dragged the 49-year-old black man to death along an asphalt road.

Thirteen years later, Jasper's city council named Pearson (pictured at left) as its first black police chief. The town has changed a lot since Byrd's murder, and Pearson's election could have symbolized the Texas town finally overcoming its ugly past. It's the plot of the 1985 whudunit comedy "Compromising Positions," but also the real-life tragedy of Dr. Albert Ro. Six years ago, in Glen Burnie, Md., Ro was stabbed 39 times and beaten until every bone in his face was broken. In the movie version, intrepid housewife-turned-reporter Susan Sarandon endeavors to find the truth. But in real life, it was a different, even stranger story. After police uncovered a fingerprint in 2010, the dentist's assistant, Shontay Hickman, confessed to hiring a hitman to kill Ro, reports CBS.
The IPO will create 1000 new millionaires, and make one graffiti artist, who presciently took shares instead of cash payment for his work at Facebook's Palo Alto's offices, as wealthy as Mitt Romney. It's a sign of our unusual times, where a great idea, a laptop, and a case of Mountain Dew can turn into millions of dollars in a couple years or less.

Many Americans now make up this new class of instant millionaires, who raced into the modern-day gold rush with pans ready and waving. Most built up companies from their homes with some scratched-together savings, and then sold them soon after for mind-bending amounts. Here are seven of the country's most dazzling instant millionaires:

Texas Teacher Is Replaced After Telling Students She's Engaged To Jesus

One student recorded it on camera and posted it on YouTube, reports TV station KGBT in Harlingen. A few other apparently weirded-out students discreetly left the classroom for help, and the teacher was escorted from the classroom.

The school superintendent later claimed that the comments by Imelda Paredes, a ninth-grade teacher at San Benito Veterans Memorial Academy, were the result of a bad reaction to medication. But Paredes, who had been honored by the San Benito School District as Teacher of the Year in 2007, insisted that she said those things "because it's true."

Paredes, 42, began her 12-minute speech by describing how Jesus had fallen in love with Mary Magdelene when he was 12. Continuing in Spanish, she explained that he impregnated her before his crucifixion.

Paredes said that she and Jesus will marry one day because she is Mary Magdelene and has stayed up all night chatting with the Son of God. Wedding preparations were already underway in Heaven, she added.

N.Y. The "Personal Lifestyle Statement" requires employees to reject homosexuality, premarital sex, adultery, drug use and public drinking near campus. It also mandates that staff be active in a local church.

They don't have clocks, or windows. They overwhelm your senses with lights, beeps and sirens. They make everything red, and play repetitive melodies on a loop to give you the trance-like sense of being in a womb. And they ply you with a lot of alcohol.

But if you get incredibly drunk on that alcohol, and shatter a glass that slices your arm, ultimately killing you from extreme blood loss, are the casino employees responsible?

So when the eight Texas dockworkers, who all are at least 50 years old, were fired and replaced with younger hires, they thought something discriminatory might be going on.
