i am unemployed and yet i stopped asking for unemployment so my number doesn't count. The reason I stopped is after 23 yrs of service to this country. I was told by the unemployment office that in the six months tha I did fill I was somehow over payed. I had to go get a job to pay them back. whats funny is that during my service I payed into a system that doesn't want to help those out that have payed into it. It helps those that have never had a job in the frist place. tell me i'm wrong and i'll say to look at the data before you make a comment

Looked at the data so here's a comment: 1. You never "payed into a system", your employer(s) did. 2. You say you file for six months so you received benefits that represented as much as 20 years' worth of your employer's contibutions to the UC funds (varies by state). It's all the people still working that are supporting those who are collecting. The system is a lot like welfare but that's a bad thing. 3. People who have never had a job can't collect UC.
