i agree with mitch who in the world wants be work their brains out doing rigorous labor like that for peanuts?i don't think people know how hard construction is labor have to go through a lot like mickey said and for these contractors to take advantage of the situation with cheap pay is very disrespectful to the craft and the field.if you want construction workers to work hard you have to pay hard and these companies don't want to.they want cheap labor and that's why people are turning their nose up to the construction field.if these contractors would do the right thing and respect the kraft and the workers and not have money signs in their eyes all the time and treat the field with respect and the hard working people that make them who they are then the results for construction would again rise but until then you're gonna keep seeing a decline in the field until these contactors let go of their pockets more.they've been eating long enough give the workers a chance to get fat!!!!!!

But the contractors don't want to pay the help. Why should an eighteen year old kid work all day in the hot sun, getting nasty and risking his life and limb for $9.00 an hour, when he could make the same money at Mickey D's and hang out with the girls? I know the company I work for doesn't do raises any more. You have to go to another company and get as much as you can, because they don't do raises either. In a few years, we will see a shortage of skilled labor- machinists, electricians, A/C techs, auto mechanics, etc., because companies are too cheap to train and retain good help.
