Help Wanted: Queen of England Seeks a Maid

Could you dust the antiques and keep a secret?

Queen of England Looking for New Housekeeper

Fancy a glimpse into the inner sanctum of the Queen of England? Her Royal Majesty is advertising for a housekeeper and the full-time job pays 14,400 pounds, or about $24,000 a year. Duties include upkeep of antiques, caring for guests at Buckingham Palace and cleaning.

Must be willing to work away from London for about three weeks a year.

The queen is looking for all those "can do" soft skills – a team focus, enthusiasm, initiative, hard work, flexibility and positive attitude. Deadline to apply is Feb. 9.

The British government recently asked the royal family to cut back on spending and said it is down to its last $1.6 million in reserve. According to Today, that number was 30 times higher just a decade ago.

Other openings on the Royal Household search engine include summer warden of Windsor Castle at about $12/hour or year-long maternity fill as a records manager for $46,000 per year.

To keep a secret, that's a $150,000.00 job. $24K a year isn't worth it.

It really sounds so modest , the pay I mean, but beggars can't be choosers. Would they be interested in a washed up American who's nearly done? "They got a name for the winners in the world" would they have me all broken and ready for quick
dismissal?

Beyond the official government pay the Royals receive, is the enormoys private wealth the Royals have. Yes, they are paid a 'stipend' which may cover their daily expenses, but in return the have enormose wealth, in the bil-lions.The crown jewels, the many coutry estates, racing stables and real estate holds in England and abroad, including vast esates and palaces are almost always used for 'Official' purposes. The royal family is the largests single owner of realestate along Broard Way, and other very valuable properties along Manhattan. At home in Great Britain they own castles and estates, racehourse farms and other properties
that have been in the family for hundreds of years. The offer these properties to the government to accommo-date viisting dignatories. The exact wealth and or worth of the Queen is not known, but the crown jewels alone
are worth hundreds of billions, for they actual value, and ten times or more for their collectors value. Her Majesty is to say the least, very well off, Thank you

There has been a Queen or King of England for over 1000 years. Queen Elizabeth has been a wonderful example to the World since her Coronation in 1953. The people of England love her and wish we had a leader that we could love or like or trust.

Seems like a measly amount to clean those big palaces and be a personal servant to guest's. Tending the guest would probably be a full time job in itself. I'm betting this would be a horrible job.

This has nothing to do with her "personal" wealth...which is still in tact.I don't understand any of that because England hands over a huge chunk of change ever year to her.Maybe this is the end of that line now.Now she's advertising for a maid?....Seriously ? I'd give that woman a bucket and mop and tell her to go for it !!
