CEO Hits Low, Saying Women With High Heels Have No Brains

Tweet at investor event sparks outrage

You'd think executives in high places would have learned their lessons about public tweeting of sexist comments.

Sexist attitudes toward women in the workplace are not new, but the CEO of healthcare startup Katnerson Systems took things to a new low at a demo day in Manhattan.

As reported by ValleyWag, Jorge Cortell,, a self-described "hacker-hactivist" posted a shot of a female attendee's high heels and posted it to his public Twitter account, saying, "Event supposed to be for entrepreneurs, VCs, but these heels (I've seen several like this) ... WTF? #brainsnotrequired"

Cortell was not content to leave the matter at that. As his employees and others started to engage with the comment on Twitter, he just kept it going.

The event was a "reverse" demo day in which venture capital firms such as Lerer Ventures, Bain Capital Parnters and SoftBank pitched themselves to the entrepreneurs in attendance. Presumably Cortell is not looking for funding anytime soon.

Just an awful thing, too many men think like him. What is so very frightening is that some women think like him as well.

Evidently, it was his brain that got shut down by the high heels. Typical.

When you are working with your Soulmate, dress as sexy as HE would like. In the corporate world, it is a jungle. Make him the top CAT...keep his enemies panting while he is making the world a better place.
Righteous men deserve an edge, ladies help your husband out. I love working with my husband, it is really a turn-on watching him leaving those jerks in the dust. Besides I love wearing heals, I have never had "leg" or "back bending" problems. BTW, I am 60 years old, stay young have fun ladies. It is Never a sin to full your husbands whole world with joy.

I like High Heels, especially those "Candies" types, they make a woman look sexy. I don't know if I think they should be worn at the gym, while doing construction work, or what they have to do with a woman's grey matter, but at least we know a woman wearing them is cowardinated and probably really unfortunate, to have this numb skull for a "Boss"

Should we tell him what we want to do with his Cialis? You know, to level the playing field. What a jerk. Let's plant a high heel in his forehead.
