Pregnant Radio Host's Water Breaks Live On-Air [AUDIO]

Most women work into their ninth month of pregnancy (80 percent according to the U.S. Census). But it's pretty rare for a woman's water to break while on the job, and even rarer for that to happen live on-air.

Radio show host Kathie J (pictured) shared her special moment with Denver audiences Wednesday morning. As a co-host introduced KS107.5's morning show, there are squeals of "Oh my god!" and a male voice saying "Oh my God, gross! That is so, what... Did you just pee?"

It was not pee, but rather amniotic fluid aka the joyous harbinger of life. (Listen to the full recording below.)

"I think my water just break!" shrieks Kathie J, who didn't expect her child for another week. "What do I now?"

"Call your husband for god's sake!" a co-host suggests, and Kathie J was swiftly whisked away to the hospital.

Working until you go into labor may not be the best thing for a baby -- one study last year found that working into your last month of pregnancy can be as dangerous for your newborn as smoking -- but Kathie J soon gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby girl, weighing seven pounds, one ounce. And Kathie J won't be staying away from the studio for long.

"Definitely next week I'll be back," she told WTVR.com. "Okay, maybe not. I'm going to take a few days off, but not too many. We'll work it out."

It's always women whose water breaks while they're at work. You never hear about a man doing this. I'm just sayin'.

How terrible for this lady! This event is a fact of live and the other person should just grow up! When women are pregnant and they got that way by the men, in order to have the baby the water has to break! It is a fact of life and all men should grow up or not have sex with women!

It is too bad that she chose or had to work that long to just before the baby was due but all babies chose their time to be born not us unless you have a C-section! Then your doctor chooses the day and time.....lol! Listen little MEN....this is a fact of life and it happens all the time!

Congrats and wonderful that she didn't have to be alone and both mom and baby are ok. Some people have no idea how dangerous bringing a child into this world really is.

As a Denver native I should inform all of you that the comments made were all jokes. This is only a short clip from the whole show that morning. This radio team has been together in Denver for over more then a decade and jokes like this are not uncommon amongst them. It was a running joke on the show for weeks about how each would react when her water actually broke on the air. Both the male hosts on the show were actually extremely helpful in the situation and handled the event very well even taking care of her house and pets while she was in the hospital.
