I used to review stacks and stacks of resumes and applications. Although unconventional, I would have stopped and laughed at this one and probably granted an interview based on ingenuity alone. Getting an interview can be the hardest part of job hunting.....making yourself standout in a sea of resumes and applications is essential.

This response by the "applicant" kinda reminds me of a stanza in The Eagles' hit "Hotel California". "Up in the distance, I heard the mission bell...I remember thinking to myself 'this could be heaven or this could be hell' ". Or something to that effect. Maybe I have butchered that a bit, but the guy was probably listening to classic rock on the radio before he walked in to fill out the application. At any rate, if he meant this as a clever ploy to be noticed by the Taco Bell top tortillas, he apparently succeeded.
Please tell me what is AMAZING about this ap????
Great! This answer should net the applicant an interview. Here's a guy who recognized a "sales" opportunity and took advantage of it. He demonstrated cleverness, a good sense of humor and a positive attitude for the company's product and service, which is always a good "sales pitch" on an application. He also shows that he is willing to start "at the bottom" of a business that gets thousands of applications for part-time, entry-level jobs in a high-turnover field. This does NOT neccessarily mean he lacks ambition. He simply has a sense of economic reality - either Taco Bell's or his own, whatever his reality may be.
He has minimal aspirations to say the least. Give him the job. Teach him how to make gorditas and he'll be able to feed himself for a lifetime.
I wouldn't call it "Amazing"
Too bad General Petraeus didn't know about this opportunity before he took that other job!
