More Men Than Women Fear Being Laid Off, As Economy Weakens

ADP report private sector March jobsMarch unemployment numbers reveal the economy is weakening, it seems employees already are losing confidence. A new survey from Glassdoor finds nearly one in five employees are worried about being laid off in the next six months, despite the fact that many believe the company's outlook will improve over that period.

But more men (23 percent) than women (14 percent) are fretting about the possibility of being laid off.

What's making so many men -- and some women -- gloomy? The survey doesn't explain gender differences. But it did find nearly one in three people say their employer already had cut jobs in the last six months. Interestingly, the Glassdoor survey finds that several "external" factors are shaping people's feelings, including national economic news and government legislation. Take a look at the chart here:

Thank you dickn200b; I was just about to suggest the same exchange, but you beat me to it.
Anything to shock, to grab attention. Trashy headlines, passed by the editorial managers.
And yes, I DID indeed work for a newspaper, titled a "Manager", and I know our rich English
language offers a variety of tasteful alternatives for today's all too common pandering by
the press just to get attention. Cheap as the Kardashian's.

"Sex That Fears Being Laid Off More" Why can't the Fluffpost Flakes use the word "gender" in place of sex?

BULLSHIT! What are you? Some macho man that got replaced by a woman for good reason? I earned every penny and promotion I got during my 30 years in the corporate world.

I, for one, refuse to believe that things are not just fantastic out there...I don't care what the numbers say. The President tells us that things are better, and it's all because he made them better. He kissed a lot of babies (and asses), made outrageous promises he kn ew he could never, ever keep or even make happen, and (stupid) people believed him and voted for him (and that intellectual Joe Biden)...so, don't tell me that this isn't prosperity! BO says it is...so it must be true! The real icing on the cake? BO wants the banks to loosen their mortgage restrictions...in other words, give mortgages to people that CAN'T afford them! Isn't this what all the libs blamed Bush for?????????
