Teacher Stacie Halas, Fired For Porn Past, Ruled 'Unfit' For Classroom

Stacie Halas porn appeal teacher Teacher Kicked Out Of Classroom For Porn Past
A middle school teacher who was fired after students learned that she had appeared in pornography has lost her appeal to return to the classroom, her lawyer said Tuesday. A three-judge panel unanimously decided that Stacie Halas, 32, was unfit for the classroom. Halas was fired in April from her job as a science teacher at Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard, Calif., after online, pornographic videos of her were discovered by students and teachers.

"Although (Halas') pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague," Judge Julie Cabos-Owen wrote in a 46-page decision issued Friday by the Commission on Professional Competence.

Halas was continually deceitful about her nine-month career in the adult video industry before she went to work at the school, the decision said.

Her lawyer, Richard Schwab, said Halas had tried to be honest but was embarrassed by her previous experience in adult videos.

"Miss Halas is more than just an individual fighting for her job as a teacher," he said Tuesday. "I think she's representative of a lot of people who may have a past that may not involve anything illegal or anything that hurts anybody."

Halas has been on administrative leave since a video surfaced in March. Student claims that the teacher was moonlighting as a porn star were initially dismissed after school officials said that they couldn't find any images of her on the Internet, but they were using the school's computers, which don't allow access to erotic adult content. Teachers then showed administrators downloads of Halas' sex videos from their smartphones.

In hearings, former assistant principal Wayne Saddler testified that, at the start of one sex video, Halas talked about being a teacher, and he felt that her effectiveness in the classroom had been compromised. After rumors of her performance surfaced, profanity was etched on Halas' classroom window, a teacher testified.

Schwab has said Halas did not star in pornographic movies while teaching in any district. He said that she took parts only during an eight-month period from 2005 to 2006 because of financial problems after her boyfriend abandoned her.

District superintendent Jeff Chancer applauded the commission's ruling. Halas' decision to "engage in pornography was incompatible with her responsibilities as a role model for students and would present an insurmountable, recurring disruption to our schools should she be allowed to remain as a teacher," Chancer said in a statement.

I am a concerned citizen. We allowed this woman to teach after such a disgruntled past. I mean these little kids may have gone out and looked at a boob. I'm afraid there heads may actually explode. The mere sight of the boob is like activating a little mini detonAtor in there brain. I like how society is demonstrating the loss of all moral fiber. If your a soldier blowing people's heads off noble profession. If you show your boobs your going to hell. Sad when the profession of war and murder is a good thing. And don't get me wrong I respect soldiers, it's the politicians that start our world problems that bother me. I mean surely we would let a politician teach and no one is slimier than a politician.

Let me understand this clearly. If this woman lived with 12 different men without marriage over a 6 year time frame, it would be okay. but to have been an actress for 8 months bars her from teaching for life?

"her past activity will impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague," .... fascinating, last week the President played golf with Tiger Woods because he felt that associating with Tiger would help his (the President's) image. Tiger cheated with over 90 known women; I doubt if this teacher came close to that number while acting in porn. Bill Clinton is the most in-demand speaker and prestigious person in the Democrat Party and he was proven to have had at least 5 extra-marital affairs and been accused of attempted rape by at least three women; plus his State Police bodyguard detail testified under oath that there were many more rendezvous while governor of Arkansas. My point is if these men can be respected by colleagues and the press---then why can't this woman?

What crap now the little kids get a lesson in what a "free" society is all about. If she was accused of an act of violence she would still be teaching. The narrowminded forcing their will on the rest of society. She taught science well the narrow minded don't believe in science any way

Our society needs to start combatting the porn industry. Watching porn should not be acceptable, nor starring in it. Porn addiction is a very serious issue. Porn addiction destroys families. The people who get addicted to porn become desensitized and the woman becomes a mere obect. Porn is not entertainment, its the beginnings of an unrealistic portrayal of sex that stays in your mind and messes with your relationships. Should be treated like drugs- just dont try it.

What a world.. As a kid all I had for teachers were an endless parade of sadistic nuns named "Sister Mary Terrible" or "Sister Mary Agony". Today the kids get Stacie Halas!

I think that parents must have rights to pick the teacher who is best for their children, this matter should be asked to parents..

Where are the women's rights activists? If the past prohibits her from being a teacher at a middle school, why is it that our admitted former Pot Smoking, Cocaine snorting president (Porn not illegal, Marijuana and Cocaine are illegal) still the leader of our country? How pathetic are they to judge this woman for her past (legal past) and prohibit her from having a career. Shame, shame shame on you.

Where are all of the "responsible" parents who are allowing their children to surf pornographic sites !! Oh, I'm sorry - - we are blaming the teacher here aren't we !!??? Maybe she should have just signed up for Welfare, Food Stamps and Section 8 Housing instead !!!! By now she could be an Obama Hero !!!
