experience is knoweldge, knoweldge is power, power is knoweldge
Business so concentrates on the young consumer they forget that most wealth is in the hands of people over 40. And after the kids are in there mid to late teens the adults, parents ; have more money to spend. These 20 something have no idea how to sell to adults.
The irony is that these 20 year old CEO's will get older....
Surprise! Young California techies are as phony as any other group!
There is not a recruiter or a human resource person coast-to-coast who does not have access to the internet. As we all know, there are companies that sell your personal information for $1.99 and up, depending how much data you want. So, you submit your resume. The potential employer needs only to enter your name into a search engine and, typically at no charge, they can see your age. If they are targeting a certain age group (discriminating), you'll never know because they simply won't contact you if you are not in their parameters. So, no matter what the State law is, the internet has enabled employers to silently discriminate. In deference to the lawyer's statement in this article that it is "difficult" to prove age discrimination, it would seem the internet has made it impossilbe!
Well CA think your old if your over 30 so I don't take much stock in the article. Plus other states aren't like that.
mall cops --and security guards are available
How sad. I have had this discrimination practice I experienced. It hurts there is nothing you can do to make then see you are the right person all they see is old. They do not care if you have experience if you are a good team player, they just do not care. It is hard to prove age discrimination but if you look around and see no one over 35 you have a clue what your chances are.
This is silly because the 40 somethings have been "along for the ride" on the tech train since it began. OK...using the term "train" may not be current... but hey we ain't still rockin the' BBS at 300 baud right? Google it Skippy. LOL
A military draft will put an end to the young hiring party.
