9 Ex-Assistants Tell All About Their Rich And Powerful Bosses

Lance Armstrong ex-assistant

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency recently stripped Lance Armstrong of seven Tour de France titles and wiped his record going back 14 years. The last thing that Armstrong needed, in his free fall from grace, was a personal assistant to bust out of the woodwork and portray him to the world as a truly despicable guy.

In a brutal expose for Outside magazine, Mike Anderson explains how he became Armstrong's assistant in late 2002. He paints an unflattering picture of his former boss as: leaving his wife in an "abrupt and cruel" fashion; returning from Europe with "money stuffed into his pants" from post-Tour races that Armstrong did for under-the-table cash; avoiding a surprise visit from World Anti-Doping Agency testers; muttering under his breath at a Livestrong event, "I hate these f***ing things"; and releasing a world of hate on any person who dared challenge him.

Anderson follows a great tradition of boss-skewering by assistants. For a powerful person, nothing is more scorching than a tell-all by an ex-PA, except perhaps one by an ex-lover (see: Mia Farrow on Woody Allen, Bobby Brown on Whitney Houston). Assistants bear witness to all their boss's daily quirks after all -- updating their schedules and hearing their secrets. And if they feel spurned, they can easily leverage their overlord's fame into their own with a juicy tell-all. Here are nine of the most famous cases of celebrities who were exposed by those once trusted with their most intimate assistance.

Celebrity Assistant

It's really important that personal assistants not talk or they can't get hired again. Most have to sign a NDA, and all of the employers who hire us to make a placement require it.

Reminds me of a saying my Grandmother had...I never fotgot it..."Kindness and respect for others has NEVER come back to bite anyone in the butt"...when these celebs/big ta do's treat people badly - generally it is because they are either so lacking in their own self esteem it makes them feel good to belittle others or they bought into all the hype that they are a big ta do...and they in their ignorance feel entitled to treat people badly...either way...they reap what they sow...and it's bad karma on a boomer-rang...right back at them...deservedly so.

if these people only had nice things to say about their employers there would be no book. So of course you are going to hear outrageous things said about people. THAT is what will sell a book. That these assistants stab their employers in the back attests to their character. Why would I believe a word they write?

Boy, I could skewer a few bosses. Mine were not famous, so I won't bother to bore anyone. One thing, they were all MAJOR BUTTHEADS! I had a few very cool bosses, those I remember with good thoughts. If what this guy says about Armstrong is true, then he is not a very cool guy after all, just a talented athlete.

Wow, christian bale, what an azzhole. Havn't liked him since his outlash on the set to the electrician. The last movie I seen with him in it was Public Enemy and his portrayal of Elliot Ness was horrendous. The accent he used for Ness was reprehensible. Have not and will not see any movies with him ever again. He clearly is not a people person, his public appearances are totally necessary damage control for his hateful behavior. This man is mentally disturbed.

I thought there was some kind of non-disclosure clause in a contract with people who work for "persons in the news". I am not sure how anybody would stand up to a person trying to make money out of their foibles. I assume that a person who's "time is money" would want someone to bring them things so they don't have to spend the time getting it....that to me is a "personal assistant". And to use that position to poke fun at them or accuse them of things is unconscionable. If they are mistreated, quit, if not paid go to the State labor office, if they don't like the hours or task quit, if they feel disrespected, Quit!! Making money off of a person years after your employment is Vulturous.
