The 14 (Rich) Faces Behind Facebook

Faces of FacebookThe story of Facebook's beginnings are well known. As anyone who has seen "The Social Network" knows, a few Harvard undergrads, led by Mark Zuckerberg, created a student social networking site, then called theFacebook.com. Soon, Facebook was exported to peer institutions, then to all universities, and then quickly became the world's largest social networking site with 900 million users and more than 3,500 employees.

When the company goes public on May 18, the 28-year-old Zuckerberg, who owns 28.2 percent of the company, will become one of America's five wealthiest citizens. His net worth was pegged by Forbes in March -- ahead of the IPO -- at $17.5 billion. But his stake in Facebook could be worth upward of $28.4 billion after the public offering, according to Bloomberg.


But many other Facebook investors and employees, current and former, also are in the stratosophere, and their stories -- though equally dramatic -- are less well-known. For starters, they are young, all under the age of 45, many under the age of 30. Some were only there for the launch, and only Zuckerberg is left from the original team.
