Walmart traumatized racist manCAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- Walmart is being sued for $1 million by a man who claims he was traumatized by a racist comment made over an intercom at a southern New Jersey store two years ago. Donnell Battie, of Winslow, accuses Walmart of being negligent in failing to control access to the store's intercom, which was used to broadcast an announcement ordering all black people to leave the Washington Township store. A 16-year-old boy was arrested days later and charged with harassment and bias intimidation.

Walmart spokesman Greg Rossiter tells the Courier-Post the firm has apologized and has worked to prevent it from happening again.

Battie claims he has needed medical care due to the March 2010 comment. He says it caused him "severe and disabling emotional and psychological harm."

So..."A 16-year-old boy was arrested days later and charged with harassment and bias intimidation." No matter how inappropriate this sounds like another case of infringment on our freedom of speech. Even the American Nazis and the Klu Klux Clucks were permitted to spew their filth under this freedom. Whoever passed this law should read the Constitution.

I ought to sue Walmart for the stress I go through when I see substandard people perform what they think is work!

This sounds like a b.s. lawsuit case - how hard is it to understand a punk kid grabbed a mic and played with the intercom? The more you "secure" the intercom, the more likely it won't be used quickly in an emergency - or in everyday usage.

Obviously this idiot thinks he just won the lottery. I would hope the courts throw him out on his worthless rear end.
