never do the right thing or tell the truth, it doesnt pay
is this story real???? it is too stupid to believe that they would justify firing anyone for what he did. SMH.
Apparently they were just waiting for some one to do something so they could fired them. Not only should he get his job back, but they need to cut him a check for firing him in the first place. I would like to know who approved that decision.
Matter of fact; the one who made the decision should be fired for being stupid.

I guess it all depends on what the company's definition of "possess" and "work property" are in comparison to the court's. :) Shame on these people for trying to cheat this hard working guy out of his retirement after 23 years of employment with them!! Last time I checked, employees with insubordination issues don't usually last that long with one company. They really put their foot in their mouths with this one!
Union reps will hopefully help this guy and his supervisor out.
No doubt in my mind. The guy had a few enemies that seized the day and if it meant they got to shaft him out of his retirement benes then that was just icing on the cake. Anyone and everyone involved needs to go down hard. Thank heaven's he's got a union but he needs a private lawyer too, do the right thing and get shafted but you also have to wonder why the police never showed up...did anyone call more than once?
To all the suspicious turds on other blogs above who say there is something fishy about what Mr. Chevillot did , are nasty NRA zealots. The only thing fishy is why the Wayne County Dept would fire a man just 2 years shy of his 25 year retirement. In Detroit, where discarded guns and pistols likely out number stray cats and homeless people, this should have been no surprise to find one in tall grass.
