Look And Feel Good: Tips To Help You Land The Job!

interview beauty tipsPart of landing the ultimate job is how you present yourself – both physically and emotionally. But given this current economic time, who can afford spa visits, or over-priced skin care products? My cost-effective, doctor-recommended tips will help you to look and feel your best – even if you're on a budget!

FACT from AOL Jobs: The way we act and how we appear accounts for 55% of an interview and 33% of bosses interviewed claim that they know within 30 seconds of an interview, whether they want to hire that person.

A Winning Smile!

A bright, white smile is undeniably attractive, and makes a great first impression. But aging, as well as consuming coffee, tea, wine, and cola can cause yellow-looking teeth. They're not appealing to look at, AND can give away your age. Teeth whitening strips are $40, but my quick DIY recipe can instantly whiten your pearlies for just pennies!

Here's what you do:

Combine 1 tbsp. water with 1 tbsp. hydrogen peroxide. Swish this mixture in your mouth. After one minute, spit out the mixture and allow the peroxide bubbles to remain on your teeth to work their magic. After two minutes, rinse with water, and voila -- you'll have instantly whiter teeth.

Exfoliate Skin with Baking Soda:

Did you know that sloughing off dull skin just two to three times a week can fade age spots, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and helps firm skin? Focus on thinning temples, neck, jowls, jaw line, and hands. These are the areas that can give away your age.

Here's what you do:

After cleansing, while skin is still wet, grab a handful of baking soda. In a circular motion, gently scrub skin, and then rinse with tepid water. NOTE: For those with sensitive skin or rosacea, don't use a scrub. Instead, apply a cream exfoliant such as AHA (alpha hydroxyl acid) cream or use a glycolic acid-based facial cleanser.

Upbeat Energy:

Who doesn't enjoy the company of an upbeat co-worker? Walk into your interview feeling energized and uplifted, and you just might edge-out other more qualified candidates that just don't have your "dazzle".

Here's what you do:

Consider taking a safe supplement such as flax seed oil, a plant-based essential fatty acid. Dr. Alicia Stanton, suggests taking 1200 mg daily with meals to help uplift mood, balance hormones, and rejuvenate the skin. Note: DO check with your health care profession before taking supplements if you have medical concerns.

Now, put on a smile and land that job!
