Macy's can go to hell. And will. For they are pure evil. Greedy and selfish and not a drop of love. Magic? Don't use our powerful good light word to mask your evil! Yes magic. Watch how your money and efforts and labor disappear. What goes around come around. I can't wait to see what happens to them in the future. Only more chaos and destruction I bet. Never will be happy and always wanting more. Got interview confirmed online. Raining. Dec 23. Rushy day. Got a cab. 20 bucks. I'm homeless. No job. Guess what??? We aren't hiring. Wow. Oh. Apply to that glasses stand.... maybe they will hire you since they are hiring. Gee. Thanks. But no. I can make my own money climbing trees and eating coconuts. Nature made our life perfect. Who are we to deny it? No wonder everyone is unhappy with no matter what we achieve.

You DO NOT want to work at MACY'S! Aside from dirt pay, they are self-insured company. By doing so, the way they treat legitimately hurt workers is worst then the injury itself! If you are hurt badly enough, ending up with permanent disability and put on Social Security Disability or SSI, they will fight you tooth and nail for years in court with their lying DRs, phoney baloney IME exams. They spend more $ on lawyers, thanks to their ruthless Claims Adjuster Robin Goodell, so they DO NOT have to pay your Workers Comp, dumping YOU onto the government! You've been warned - STAY AWAY from MACY's - they will treat you like GARBAGE - you are indispensable - NO MATTER how hard you work or your qualifications!!

They give MORE jobs OVERSEAS including Customer Service, not to mention cheaply made, overpriced merchandise made in China, done away with Union Workers and Full Time help so NO Benefits! They just want to take your money! The greedy Macy's management is one part of the reason, America is in the dumps. They look at themselves as a Leader in Retail Business -- YEAH! in How to RIP OFF your employees and customers, underneath their noses, so Corporate Management can live the High Life. Macy's ain't what it used to be when privately owned.

Its ALL A BIG FARCE! One day they will fall hard when people wake up to what is going on and stop falling for the Sale Commercials! Refocus and Buy Local!

MACY'S DOES NOT SPEND BILLION$> Companies have to PAY to be in the Parade! A LOT OF $$$. People seem to think its Macy's gift! YEAH RIGHT! Call up and ask what they charge for a business to be in the Parade, and get a good shock for a float, balloon or some guy walking around in Pizza suit or some other advert!

My daughter worked in their womans shoe department and of course was promissed commissions. They overhired and virtually no one got commissions. Just minimlum wage and also part time. But it was a job.... of sorts. Also, the management did not control or have in place protection of commissions. People took other peoples sales and pulled all sorts of cons to up their personal wages. It was sad and I am sure nothing has changed. She worked there for almost a year and got fed up with even other people in other departments ending up with shoe department commissions. In conclusion... one had to speak fluent Spanish to really get anywhere since the store was 7 miles from the Mexican border........ viva tijuana....

You are making MINIMUM WAGE at Macy's or close. When I saw that $14 figure, I just laughed. They key is the word "between" and trust me, you will be on the lower end of that one.

I interviewed with Macys three years ago, huge waste of time. At the time I was 50 years old and I am convinced I was not hired due to my age, despite extensive retail exerience. I have known other people who have worked for Macys and all of them say that working there has gotten worse in the last few years. There is a lot of pressure to upsell and to open new Macys charge accounts. Part time help is taken advantage of by being assigned the worst working schedules, and after the Holidays most are let go.

Macys is the worst place to work at because the employees are very nasty and very very rude especially to customers. trust me I know! Macys there is a lot of favoritism and discrimination, but also they worked the employees like they are in a sweatshop. Macys is not paying enough cheap!

Here in california you have to be between 17 and 22 and be bilingual for them to even consider hiring you. Sure they'll take you application and may call you in for an interview but you'll be wasting your time. I applied in 2008 for seasonal work and was called in for an interview along with around 35 other people that day (all looked around 20 ). I spent the whole day there watying to be interviewed. When i finally got called into the room, the first thing rhey asked if I spoke Spanish. I said only a few words, They snarled and and asked me how much sales experience. I said a few years back in 80's. Then they really snarled and said we'll let you know. Of course they never called me back

Macys is prejudice!! I was rejected because of age descrimination, I am 50. This is so not fair.

Sears and Macy’s should be sued for age and reverse race discrimination. I worked as a bench technician at a couple different companies for about 18 years but was laid off as most of those type jobs were outsourced overseas..

In 2008 I applied at Sears here in So. California for a Appliance Repair Technician and took a long test and aced it. When I was called in for an interview, the hiring manager seemed concerned about my age (45) and mentioned a few times about the physical aspects of the job. I assured him that I am in excellent health and could easily handle the work. The next week I called and I was told I was over qualified for the job which of course means I was too old.

Several months later the HR from Sears called me about a appliance inspection type position. Because it had been over 6 months I had to take the test again so I did. When I was called in again for an interview this hiring manager asked if I was bilingual and I of course replied no. He said many of their customers are now Hispanic so they prefer bilingual. Of course I was not hired. They could of atleast had the decency to tell me this upfront that so I didn’t waste several hours of my time.

I had a similar experience at Macy's when applying for seasonal work around Christmas that year.. And like a slap in the face, I keep seeing the same jobs listed over and over again..

Total reverse discrimination and age discrimination. it's the same
with most of these companies. If our government wasn't so Goddamn
rotten and corrupt they would never get away with this crap.

I contacted a lawyer as was told the unwritten law is employers’ CAN discriminate against White English Speaking Americans, they just can't discriminate against NON-White and/ or Non English speaking Americans
