Zappos Hiring 3,000 Seasonal Workers

Are you interested in working for a company that encourages you to date your co-workers? That measures your well-being regularly, to make sure it never slips too low? That cares, first and foremost, about delivering happiness to its customers and always to its employees?

Zappos, the largest online shoe store, is hiring approximately 3,000 seasonal workers, 1,000 of them over the next two weeks. Apparently, leopard print clogs and plum fur-lined slippers make popular Chrismukkah gifts.

The company is known for its overwhelmingly good service and cultish employee loyalty. It manages to do this by hiring employees based not only on their skills and experience, but also on their adherence to 10 principles, which include "Create Fun and a Little Weirdness," "Embrace and Drive Change," "Be Adventurous, Creative and Open-Minded," and "Be Humble."

Hiring for the holidays, anyone looking for part time help? Is this what we are calling a solution to the 9.1% unemployment? People need income from jobs that will support a family. I guess it is big news for a company to come into town and pay $11 an hour. I'm sorry for not being appreciative but my mortgage is $1200 a month that I paid by working a $25 an hour job. Where can one go to earn an honest living that pays a livable wage? It is not lazy for not having a job, it is lack of opportunity.
