Target Has 1,300 Openings for Salaried Workers, Plus Some Hourly Hiring
Target, the retailer that is presenting real competition for Wal-Mart Inc., is hiring. At its corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn., its distribution centers, and retail stores, Target has openings for about 1,300 salaried workers as well as jobs for hourly employees, reports Fortune. The jobs are diverse.
The positions include merchandise presentation, product design, development of the Target.com business, marketing, engineering, and team leadership. For the Target Pharmacy and Target Clinics there are also openings for pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants.
What Target is looking for in job applicants are those focused on growth -- both that of the corporation and of their own career development. Be prepared to present evidence that you can collaborate as a team member and you also can be a leader.
The organizational culture is high energy, inclusive, and fun. Get a feel for that by spending some time in a Target store and talking with the associates. Likely, you will find them totally engaged in serving "guests" who come to the stores. Also, notice how the facility is designed and merchandise laid out to present a "shopping experience."
