Part of the dilemna is your training & background. I have tried to look for part-time work elsewhere. But, with my K-12 teaching background, I usually substitute teach.
Although, I have had daily calls since October 12th, because many people are getting sick with the flu, I know this will end eventually...
I am often propositioned for insurance sales and financial advisor positions. But, often you have to pay for your own training or work under someone else for awhile until you get enough clients of your own. Working on commission in a recession is also very dicey.
