Finding a job past 45 is getting to be tough. I retired as a CEO via merger at 55 years old and the best I could get initially was a ten dollar an hour temporary job. Employers are reluctant to take older employees in top level jobs, basically because they feel technology has increased at such a rapid rate that oldies do not have it. This applies to most workers once they hit 50. I started my own business in a small way and have managed to pay the extra bills; I was fortunate to be able to do this. Now nearing 70, I feel for the younger people, (45 plus) who have to adjust to their situation; it is tough out there.
