Yes I do know how to spell sleeves, it was a simple typographical error. I never said I was super-human or incapable of errors. Obviously you all miss my point entirely. I would rather spell a word wrong than to end a sentence with a preposition as so many of you plainly did. As far as the number of jobs I had, I finished college in 1981. I grew up in the energy crisis of the 1970's and I was NEVER fired from a job. I was the victim however, four times in a row, of companies selling out to foreign competition or merging with larger American-based companies and thus I had to move on because there was no company left for which to work! I was NEVER unemployed even though we were in double-digit unemployment then as well! What I am trying to get across to some of you (NOT all of you) is that when times get tough, you have to scale back and go into survival mode. Americans are on the average very spoiled and way too soft and comfortable in living above their means. Thus, when the ugly unfortunate incident of down-sizing, layoffs, mergers, or whatever it is that takes your job away from you becomes a reality, you are left with credit card bills you can no longer afford and flipping burgers cannot help you because YOU budgeted YOUR finances poorly! YOU did this, not anyone else BUT YOU! If you stay content with what you have and quit trying to keep up with the Jones', when the venomous serpant rears its ugly head, you will survive. I think more of you need to watch Suze Orman! I NEVER had the luxury of having such a wise financial counselor avaiable on Television when I was coming along. You folks have everything handed to you and still its not enough! All that you can find wrong with me is that I spelled the word sleeves wrong. How pathetic you all sounded. And as far as the racial comment. Get over it already. I am sick and tired of hearing people blame their problems on race or gender or sexual preference when it comes to the job market. Obviously you were NOT as good in person as you thought you were over the phone! I do not think it had anything to do with race! I too am Black! And I am Gay! Explain that to me! You said that over the phone you sound White. Know one knows that I am GAY unless I tell them because I am a MAN first and foremost! I do NOT act effeminately. How do you act in person? You said you are a "few" pounds overweight. That's not a crime either. If you think you did not get a job because of being a "few" pounds overweight, then start exercising and lose those "few" pounds. I really believe you are hiding behind your choice of adjectives. You said a "few" pounds. Now, be honest with yourself, not me, is it really a "few" pounds or more like 50 pounds? A few implies 3 (three)! Good luck to you all, I can tell by your responses you are really going to need it. I was holding out more faith in you than this. I will say a prayer for you all on a daily basis as I do think that America is the best country in the world. I just wish that Americans would change their philosophies on several issues. I hope and pray that all of you start boycotting all of the violence that is on television and in the movies! Our children are growing up immune to the toxicity that violence instills in them. Good manners, self-esteem, self-confidence, and good character starts in the home!
