This time last year, we were dealing with the collapse of financial giants and wondering what in the world was going on. Massive layoffs were occurring and more were on the way. Anyone wondering if we were in a recession got their answer.
Today's outlook is rosier than it was 12 months ago. We're certainly still feeling the effects of the economic turmoil and we've still got a lot of work ahead of us, but the economy's not in a standstill despite what you might think. Plenty of employers across various industries are still hiring, and they need good workers right now. Literally, they want you this very moment.
Employers don't just want new workers -- they want good ones who are committed to the job. Durham School Services, which provides student transportation for schools districts, realizes that the need for qualified, responsible workers doesn't disappear during tough times.
"Everything we do is graded on the performance of our front line -- our drivers. We heavily invest resources in driver recruitment and training because good drivers are so hard to find," says David Defalco, director of driver recruitment. "The search for the right drivers is paramount to our success because the best drivers equal the safest kids."
And even though the economy's still trying to recover, businesses are still expanding. Teavana, a company that sells teas and related products, is looking to continue opening stores over the next five years and expects to hire hundreds of new employees as they grow. So keep in mind that many companies hiring today intend to continue hiring well into the future.

clymnj, Everything you said makes perfect sense in this job environment so I checked out that web site and I'm definitely going to give that a try. There are so many advantages to a home business in terms of time to spend with your family, not wasting time commuting, as well as tax advantages.
